    Hi,
I have just updated my theme (Salient) and I am having issues with the Javascript options. When “Page transitions” are enabled the page never loads. Disabling them the pages do load but very slowly and frequently time out.
It worked fine with an older version of them theme.
Theme support says to Adjust the Enqueue order.

Is this something that is possible with Autoptimize

autoptimize comes long after the queue has been read, instead working on the linked script and stylesheets in the output HTML @shanedel990.

but what exactly is the issue you’re seeing since the theme update?

You must have replied just when I was editing my post.

The issue with the page transitions seems to be solved by removing the custom loading image.

But now compression seems to have been disabled (google pagespeed)and page loading times are alot slower than they used to be. See here

and when page transitions are enabled, do you see JS errors on your browser console?

    ok, regarding speed;
    * W3TC page cache seems not to work any more (no idea why really)
    * for AO, disable “aggregate inline JS” (and optionally “aggregate inline CSS”) to make sure cached optimized JS (CSS) can be reused

No errors I’m finding it hard to diagnose the exact issue.

the issue *seems* to be the theme upgrade. you could downgrade and doublecheck if in that case W3TC does work. if so, this is a pretty big issue with the (latetst version of the) theme.

regarding AO; aggregating inline JS is off by default, and this will have a significant performance impact.

W3TC seems to work when I disable AO

Is the a caching and minify plugin you can recommend that works well with AO?

They all worked happily together before I updated the theme. The only reason I updated is because there are some display issues with the latest version of chrome which are fixed with the latest update.

well, normally AO & W3TC work great together (provided minification is off in W3TC). good alternatives are comet cache (see “optimize more” tab in AO), wp super cache, cache enabler, hyper cache, … lots of choices really 🙂
