Adjust space between paypal button and dropdown (6 posts)

    Hello,

    I've read a number of posts about Paypal button spacing suggesting adding zero padding code in a specific spot. However, it's not solving my problem. Below is the code. I'd like to reduce the space between the dropdown menu and the button. Can you tell me what code to put in and exactly where?

    Thank you.

    <form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post" target="_top"><input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick" />
    <input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="MJSHCQPF7GYDE" />
    <table>
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td><input type="hidden" name="on0" value="Select Option" />Select Option</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td><select name="os0"><option value="Member">Member $45.00 USD</option><option value="Non-member">Non-member $50.00 USD</option></select></td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>
    <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD" />
    <input type="image" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!" name="submit" src="http://slowfoodportland.com/buy-ticket.gif" />
    <img alt="" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1" border="0" />

    </form>

    It's not possible to help with this kind of thing without seeing the actual page - because we'd need to see what the CSS is doing (or not doing). CSS isn't visible in the code.

    Looks like that space is being created by the break tag <br> here:

    <p>
    <input type="hidden" name="currency_code" value="USD">
    <br>
    <input type="image" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!" name="submit" src="http://slowfoodportland.com/buy-ticket.gif">

    It's not visible in your HTML code above (but that may have been messed up by posting here without using the code buttons) - are you using the TEXT editor to add the form? The VISUAL editor may be adding or messing up code if you're using it or switching between them.

    Hello,

    Yes, I pasted it into the Text editor, not Visual.

    I do see what you're talking about when I View Source, all the additional
    . There's no way to delete them? What about adding a negative padding or something?

    Can you explain what you mean by "(but that may have been messed up by posting here without using the code buttons)". Not sure what "here" refers to or what "code buttons" mean.

    Thanks,
    Jane

    You need to put code posted in the forums inside backticks (use the code button just above the post form) -

    Doesn't sound like that's the problem - don't know where they'd be coming from - so yeah, negative margin may well work okay - try:

    #post--9999 form input {
        margin-top: -20px;
    }
