• I recently installed the Adhesive plug-in to my site and did a post that incorporates an image from Flickr. When a PC visitor first visits my site the text in the post shows up immediately, but the image takes about 10-15 seconds to load. It looks fine on my computer – which is a Mac. Is there any way to fix it so the image loads immediately with the text?

Also, I noticed the formatting of some text in the xtra.php section (I WANT THAT BOOK!) is all on one line when viewed from my Mac, but is on two lines when viewed on a PC. Any advice on how to make Mac and PC viewing consistent?

My site is http://www.pearlanddotty.com if you would like an example of the issues at hand.

    Thanks for looking into this!

  • the text loads first, the external link second. some browsers will immediately start loading resources as they are hit, some will wait until the main HTML block is complete. Flickr’s speed is also an issue — it’s a remote file… Works fine once cached locally, of course.

I WANT THAT BOOK is one line on my PC, winxp, firefox. However, it will depend on the font size, the browser font size adjustment, the browser, the OS font adjustment (antialiasing, etc.) options… and more.

Personally, I had to deactivate Adhesive. It interferes with all sorts of things, including the is_category() function.

Thanks for this post. I wondered why my page is loading so slowly. After deactivating Adhesive, the loading time is reduced from 5 to 3 sec
