Support » Plugin: Share Buttons by AddThis » AddThis LinkedIn doesn't work

  • Resolved dweeb

All other parts of the widget works fine, but not the linkedin icon. The PHP includes a weird path that doesn’t seem to exist.
I changed the PHP to a correct path to a public profile, but no change – it says profile not found..?

Interesting! Can I have a link to your site? You can mail me srijith[AT]

Me too report about the same. The reason is the following: you use while profile (at least mine and few friends of mime) are starting at

I tried to change in/ to pub/ in code of addthis-follow.php, but for unknown reason it still uses in/ I really cannot understand, where does it take in/?

    My linkedin profile is
and I type eugene-zhukov/0/772/10a in a widget field.

I also tried to copy a code into sidebar, removing widget from there. All the rest buttons work well, except linkedin

Just in case you need links to check it out: – plugin is installed, but I didn’t use a widget, using a pure code in a sidebar. – here I use it as a widget, just changed in/ to pub/ in code of addthis-follow.php

As you may see, the result is the same. I guess, the easiest would be to change to, what would let people to use in/ or pub/ for their choice as a part of their profile spec.

    Thank you in advance.

    Djeka, Dweep,

I understand the issue is related to the profile link difference. Linked in allows customised public profile urls as explained here:

    So instead of

you can have a shorter, meaningful public profile url like

The difference in pub & in comes there. Most people use the customised version of public url and our system is designed based on that. I recommend you to update the linkedin profile url to the shorter version, not just for making it work with Addthis and many other services, it looks cool and professional without those numbers!

Oh! Really! I changed and it got to be working. So thank you for help.
But you know, I guess, would be better if you would cut link there in your plugin to Means to cut in/ Cause me, being LinkedIn user during many years, never paid attention to such details, as a type of link, and really didn’t know about such option. And I predict, there are many others, who meet the same issue as I did.

    Thank you anyway,

    Hi srijith.v,

I have a bunch of users who all have the /pub and have been using it for many years. Is there any option to let the /pub users keep their LinkedIn profile URL and use your plugin?

    This isn’t really resolved

    My client has a

linked in account and a regular account – both under the same email – we want to link only to the company

I see no way to make a custom url for this ?

is there a way to changed the linkedIn path ?

Or do I have to find another plugin ?

    Hello Donna,

In the latest version of Follow Plugin available, you have the option to provide Linkedin Company profile. Check for the 4th option in the settings page. Let me know if you couldn’t make it work.
