your file ownership and/or permissions are incorrect.

    1) What user is PHP running under? If you’re using PHP-FM,

    ps -ef |grep php

if apache, ps -ef |grep apache or ps -ef |grep httpd

    2) where is wordpress installed?

    ls -l /path/to/wordpress

who owns those files and where are the directory and file permissions

    3) How do you know this is a mod_security issue? What makes you suspect that?

    4) What operating system are you using?

why did you decide to use a VPS if you don’t know how to operate a server It’s like you bought a car without knowing how to drive.

    1. Did this site (as hosted on this server ever work?

    2. If so, what did you change?

    3. If not, you need to align the ownership of the wordpress file tree with the user under which PHP is running. So, first you need to determine that.

    4. Do you have command line access via SSH?

Because the traffic was a lot

    1) Yes

    2) nothing, nothing changed.

    3) No, I’m on windows???

    2) nothing, nothing changed.

Except it stopped working, so something changed. If you changed nothing in the site configuration, please contact your host to see if they changed anything. (Beware of hosts being “helpful” 🙂 )

Because the traffic was a lot

I think you might want to reconsider and go to a managed WordPress solution like that provided by Dreampress (Dreamhost), WP-engine, or one of the other quality WP hosters. They run the server, you worry about content. In your current postion, you’re driving the car you don’t know how to drive while typing in your content. A crash is inevitable.

What the hell is this!! THe htaccess file is coming restoring itself and the error is repeating……….@Sterndata what do you have to say about this? and the permissions are set to 755.

WordPress recreates the .htaccess file. Stop flailing. With the files, it’s ownership and permission. Talk to the folks at bluehost.

    @apkreal

It looks like the site is loading fine at the moment, do you still have that issue anymore?

There are a lot of really good Linux tutorials online.
