Additional line added to footer.php

    I have had a problem with a plugin not working, and a software house has located a line has been added to footer.php, which is <?php wp_foots(); ?>

    So the final section of footer.php on my site is :

    <i class=”fa fa-chevron-up”></i>

    </div><!– #page –>
    <?php wp_foots(); ?>
    <?php wp_footer(); ?>
    </body>
    </html>

    This looks like someone has hacked into the site. What do you think?

    I will be deleting this line as it is causing a problem, but I have a copy of this file before its deletion.

    Hi @dtandersongb,

    It seems that the code is not present on the ColorMag theme seen on the footer.php file, so can you please delete those lines and check it once?

    I did delete it immediately, and it did make a difference.

    However, my worry is that the file had been edited or hacked by someone – not me.

    Hi @dtandersongb,

    It seems that the code is not within the theme at all, and is not required by the theme. And, do you have any other users on your site who have such access to edit them? If you have then, can you please consult with them instead so that they might be able to assist you properly regarding this?
