Additional Images Sizes to Media Settings ?

I’ve been following the evolution of Responsive Images since 2011 , and there are recent indications that a new WordPress Plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/ricg-responsive-images might eventulally become integrated into WordPress Core. In reaching that goal, I was wondering if the Medial Library and Uploader could be improved by adding 1-2 additional Images Sizes that mirror or closely follow the common Media Breakpoints used by the most current Frameworks such as Bootstrap and Zurb’s Foundation. The idea is that a WordPress Standard could be set, for Responsive Images (including Featured Images), BEFORE any theme developer starts to tinker with it.
