Adding WordPress to sub domain?

  • Hi,
few months ago i installed WordPress in my host via their Fantastico portal. Then my webdesinger built me new website (not wordpress but php etc.) and uploded to my hosting and removed all WordPress content. I am not sure if it is still installed or not, how do i know?
I created new subdomain for which would like to install WordPress and manage it. How do i do it? if i install WordPress again, will it interfere with my current website directories, mysql databases? what do i need to consider before installing or else?

You can install WordPress pretty much anywhere you want.

    a) Subdomain wordpress.example.com
    b) Directory (folder) example.com/wordpress

In either case WordPress will not interfere with your non-WordPress site. You can have separate database as well.

Open Fantastico via cPanel and install WordPress for the subdomain you created, instead of directory or root like you had before your web designer built your new site. Your subdomain will be available in dropdown menu. http://youtu.be/tjcTeuCXIKw you can also see this video.

    Cheers,
    Emil
