• I am looking to add wordpress blog as a SECOND database where another not-wordpress database already exists. The first attempt disabled the old, dont know if my error or webhost but what is the safest way to accomplish this?

  • I’ve not had any problems like that – did you take the default option to have all the tables for wordpress starting with the default “wp”? I’ve got a single database for an Elgg installation, two WordPress ones (I gave them different prefixes), and a media wiki one. They’re all ignoring each other & working as they should.

Does your webhost limit the number of tables you can have in a single database or something?
