 * Hi there,
    I am relatively new to WordPress and infarct website design in general
   and I know pretty much nothing about HTML. I have dabbled a bit with wysiwyg
   editors but that dosent really count I guess.
 * Here is my problem, I am using the cyanotype theme and on wordpress.com it gives
   me the option to change it so that the Background colour is white, and the borders/
   text are a shade of blue. However on wordpress.org, I only seem to be able to
   change the background color and not the colour of the borders. I am not sure
   how I can change it. At some point in the future I would like specific portions
   of the site to be in different colours. Blue the default, but then a few pages
   with yellow lines/tex and a few with red etc.
 * I also wondered if it was possible to modify the site so that the Header text
   is replaced with a logo and there are widgets in the neighboring field as shown
   in the images below.

 * Thanks for any help.

 * [@camf111](https://wordpress.org/support/users/camf111/) – if you could link
   to your site on WordPress.com running Cyanotype, I can check what colour palette
   you were using and give you the relevant CSS to use on your self-hosted site.
 * Could you also please provide a link to your self-hosted site as well? Thanks.

 * Thanks!
 * For recreating the blue-on-white colour palette you had on WordPress.com, I created
   a Gist with the CSS here:

 * Don’t edit the theme files directly, otherwise your changes will be overwritten
   every time the theme is updated.
 * An easy way to add custom CSS is to use the CSS editor included in the Customizer
   as of WordPress 4.7. Head to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS to copy
   over the custom CSS I provided above.

 * You can add a logo in the self-hosted version of Cyanotype by activating the
   [Jetpack plugin.](https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/)
 * Adding new widget areas to a theme is a bigger project that will require first
   making a child theme and having some code knowledge in order to modify your child
   theme Making a child theme means your changes won’t be overwritten when you update
   the theme. If you’re new to child themes, you can explore these guides:
