Adding thumbnails to post excerpts via plugin

Hello all,

Was wondering if there was a plugin that is reliable or more up-to-date that could add thumbnails to post excerpts? My current theme does not seem to support this feature, and I am weary of altering code or creating a child theme just for this. Any help appreciated, and thanks in advance.
