• Hi,

I am just checking this before I do anything, as I don’t want to be taking credit unlawfully.

I am using a theme but I have made some changes to it, overall design, colour scheme etc.

Now I have noticed that at the bottom of the page it has the author’s name and website. As I have changed the theme now by changing the css code my self can I put my name along side it or change it just to my name and site.

I understand it is wrong to unlawfully claim a website, this is why I am checking before I make any changes as I am new to this.

    Thanks in advance

  • In my experience each theme developer has different requirements for using their theme. You might check on the theme developer’s site for their thoughts about removing the theme developer’s credentials.

PS – “I understand it is wrong to unlawfully claim a website” < it is your website, you are simply investigating whether you can claim theme / design credit.

    Ok thanks for that.

Yes, I think I worded that incorrectly, I meant the design credit as you stated
