Adding the author to a website

    Hi,

    I am just checking this before I do anything, as I don’t want to be taking credit unlawfully.

    I am using a theme but I have made some changes to it, overall design, colour scheme etc.

    Now I have noticed that at the bottom of the page it has the author’s name and website. As I have changed the theme now by changing the css code my self can I put my name along side it or change it just to my name and site.

    I understand it is wrong to unlawfully claim a website, this is why I am checking before I make any changes as I am new to this.

    In my experience each theme developer has different requirements for using their theme. You might check on the theme developer’s site for their thoughts about removing the theme developer’s credentials.

    PS – “I understand it is wrong to unlawfully claim a website” < it is your website, you are simply investigating whether you can claim theme / design credit.

    Yes, I think I worded that incorrectly, I meant the design credit as you stated
