I created Taxonomy Image as Pods Fields.

Now, I want to be able to add Taxonomy Image to the Parent Category, and be able to add Taxonomy Image to the Subcategories as well.

How is this achieved in Pods?

    Sincere Regards

If you added a field to a taxonomy then all categories of that taxonomy will have the image option.
Maybe I’m not understanding your question, could you elaborate?

If you’re looking to show the image field on taxonomy archives or when you list terms of that taxonomy for a specific post type, you could set up a custom taxonomy archive template https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/template-files-section/taxonomy-templates/

Can you clarify where you are wanting it to show?

Dear Jory Hogeveen (@keraweb) and Scott Kingsley Clark (@sc0ttkclark)

What I want to achieve is this– https://prntscr.com/15jxkni

You can see different Images with their Category Title in Text. Now, all these Categories fall under a Parent Category called Recipes.

I did that with a Recipe plugin called WP Recipe Maker.

I want to do the same thing with Elementor and Pods. Then I want to be able to pull the Images alongside their Title onto the Page as is done above, or as seen here– https://prntscr.com/15jxkni

I’ve created the Terms with their Images. Here is the Parent Category with its Taxonomy Image– https://prntscr.com/15jy1fr

And here is the Subcategory with its Taxonomy Image– https://prntscr.com/15jygaj

And here are the Recipe Categories– https://prntscr.com/15jysl9

And each one will have a Taxonomy Image and Taxonomy icon.

I am asking that–How can Pods and Elementor do it for me? That I can pull the Image and Icon of each subcategory into a Single Template Design in Elementor?

You’ll want to get in contact with Elementor with how they support custom fields for Taxonomy Terms. You’ll need to list the terms and be able to do those sorts of things using Elementor itself. All of this stuff is possible for any post type but I just don’t know if Elementor can do that for Terms on their own.

If it can, then the same custom field functionality they have available with Elementor Pro for Pods should potentially work for terms too. That includes embedding an image that uses a dynamic source of a custom field value.

    Thanks for your reply Sirs.

But honestly, I added those Taxonomy Images through Advanced Custom Fields(ACF), and somehow, they do not add to my Elementor Design. Even though I pull the Taxonomy Term Image, no image appears.

So I’m thinking there’s something in ACF that’s still missing–maybe a setting somewhere, maybe a configuration somewhere, I don’t know.

Now, I want to do the same thing I did in ACF with Pods. I want to use Pods to add Image to Taxonomies/Categories.

In ACF, this is how we do it– https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/adding-fields-taxonomy-term/

In Pods, How is it done?

And How do we specify which Category to apply the Rule? What I mean by this for example is that I have many Categories. But I want Taxonomy Image for only my Recipe Category and its subcategories.

How do I make this kind of specificity using Pods for Taxonomy Image?

I checked the documentation. It showed me how to create Taxonomies and associate them with Post Types.

I’m looking at associating the Custom Taxonomy Field with a specific Category.

For example, I have Taxonomy called Recipes. I want my Custom Image Field to be associated only with this Category.

    How will this be done?

    Hi @gamicord,

Pods would be used for the part of creating the Custom Taxonomy.

However, for a custom field that only displays if a certain Category or Taxonomy Term is present, you may want to look at Advanced Custom Fields for its “Field Groups” which have filters available under “Location” (for example, only show this field if the post Category/Term is set to X.)

    Hope that helps!
