# Adding subscribers

   without them to join the conversation? Thank you, Miriam

 * Replyable requires all users to double opt-in to subscriptions. Doing anything
   less is usually in violation of spam laws.
 * You can encourage subscriptions by making the _join the conversation_ checkbox
   checked by default, but you very well might upset your users.

 * I’m not sure what you mean. By default Replyable invites all readers to join 
   the conversation via your comments section. Can you tell me more about what you
   are looking for?

 * Sure. For example
 * I have a post.
    A comment was made to this post. There is a group of 5-6 people
   who needs to be notified about this comment. If I understand it correctly, in
   order for a person to become a subscriber (receive email notifications) he/she
   needs to make a comment; correct?
 * Is there an option to send an email invitation to a person to become a subscriber
   without the need to comment or visit the post?

 * No, not at all. I see where that could work for your community, but for most 
   sites this would quickly be abused and turned into a spam spewing mess. We stick
   to a strict standard of letting the visitor choose to be emailed by a site. That
   said, this is probably best done by hand….
