  • How do I increase space between list items? I want less space than a <br> or a <spacer> will give. I have tried everything I can think of and everything I have found online, including things in this forum.

    So far I have tried the following all to no avail:
    <ul style="line-height:1.4;">
    <li style="margin-bottom: 3px;">
    <ul style="line-height:120%;">
    Adding #content li {margin-bottom:3px;} to my child theme

    I would prefer to have some code that I can put in on a list by list, post by post basis because I do not feel I need extra space in my footnotes list.

    Thank you!!

  • try <ul style="line-height:1.4em;">

    What is your theme and url?

    No, I tried that, and just tried it again at your suggestion. It did not work.

    The theme is a Brunelleschi child theme that I made. None of the small changes I made in the child would effect the list spacing so this is probably something in Brunelleschi.

    I also tried all the above code with the blockquote off to see if it would make any difference. Sadly, it did not. So I have put it back into blockquote since it is a quote.

    Any other ideas? Thank you for trying to help.

    I took a look at it with Firebug (Firefox addon) which is a great tool for dealing with css changes.

    Remove your inline styles and add this to your child theme

    ul li {
        margin-bottom: 30px;

    or more specific for posts contents:

    article ul li { margin-bottom: 20px; }

    and then clear the browser cache – ‘CTRL F5’ or ‘reload’ …

    Thank you!! They both worked!

    Thank you for the clarification on using the word “article” with it if I want only the lists in posts to have space.
