[Resolved] Adding Space Between Body and Background Image

  • I’m currently using WordPress as a CMS with the Vigilance theme. I added the following code to the style.css of my child theme in order to display a background image on the outside of the body of my site:

    body {
    	background: url(image.jpg)
    }
    #wrapper {background-color: white}

    This seems to work fine except that my background image touches the sides of the theme body and it looks a bit silly. How can I add a little space between the background image and the sides of the body? (I hope my terminology makes sense here.)

    Additionally, the white background of the body does not extend all the way to the bottom of the site on pages without widgets, so the background image touches three sides of the body and this also looks silly. How can I extend the white background/footer to reach the bottom of every page? My knowledge of CSS is very limited, so specific code would be greatly appreciated.
