Adding some HTML inline after each excerpt?

  • What I’d like to do is to add a CSS-styled permalink button immediately following the last word of each excerpt. I mean, on the same line, in the same paragraph tag.

But where do I stick this code? I’m using a Hemingway theme, which doesn’t display the default “[…]” (it doesn’t insert any truncation indicator), so I can’t grep -r [...] /wordpress/ and just replace the […] with my HTML.

I know Hemingway’s excerpts are modeled on the “excerpt reloaded” plugin, but I’m not good enough with PHP to see anything obvious in functions.php that would let me tack on some code to the end of each function.

FYI, here’s the excerpt function that’s being used in my theme, from functions.php: http://rafb.net/p/Fz96AU84.html
