    what is the point?

    with no scroll (in IE7 and FF3.6) on a ‘normal’ laptop monitor, I can just see a half line of CONTACT in the menu.
    anything lower would be totally lost.

    Thanks, that’s exaclty it. I have got the images and tried to place it in the header.php file like this:

    <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Inland-Sea-An-Australian-Odyssey/123709444331694" target="_blank">
    <img src="http://www.theinlandsea.com.au/wp-content/themes/widescreen/images/facebook.png" width="38" height="38" border="0" alt="FB" />
    </a>
    <a href="http://www.twitter.com/TheInlandSea"><img src="http://www.theinlandsea.com.au/wp-content/themes/widescreen/images/twitter.png" width="38" height="38" border="0" alt="Twt"/></a>
    <a href="http://www.linkedin.com/ppl/webprofile?vmi=&id=3538217&pvs=pp&authToken=90wV&authType=name&locale=en_US&trk=ppro_viewmore&lnk=vw_pprofile"><img src="http://www.theinlandsea.com.au/wp-content/themes/widescreen/images/linkedin.png" width="38" height="38" border="0" alt="Lin"/></a>
    <a href="http://www.vimeo.com/theinlandsea"><img src="http://www.theinlandsea.com.au/wp-content/themes/widescreen/images/vimeo.png" width="38" height="38" border="0" alt="Vim"/></a>
    <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/theinlandsea"><img src="http://www.theinlandsea.com.au/wp-content/themes/widescreen/images/youtube.png" width="38" height="38" border="0" alt="UT"/></a>

    Do I need some other code to “introduce” it?

    alchymyth:

    thanks for the heads up. The idea is to remove the lines between categories and adjust the nav menu upwards.
