I have created a network on my server with the current update of WordPress.org.

I used the Sub-directory method. Everything seemed to go wonderfully until I created a new site, the site is located in the admin section, but when I click on the dashboard, it doesn’t exist.

I’m pretty sure I just missed a step somewhere. Any suggestions?

What exactly is the error you get when you click on the Dashboard link?

Oops! This link appears to be broken.

I can reach the Dashboard for the first blog I created, but not for the second. It just gives me the Oops! This link appears to be broken error.

    Does that make sense?

Make sure a .htaccess file was created and that mod_rewrite is turned on in Apache.

Basically that means the htacess file isn’t being read properly and your host has to kick it a bit. 😉

Ugh, my host admin says mod_rewrite is on, so it’s gotta be the htacess file.

And he’s not sure what to do to it to make it work. I’ve copied the code that WP gives me in the network setup section of the Network Admin area. And it’s STILL giving me errors.

Is there a possibility that code is incorrect?

Your host needs to make sure, as well, that AllowOverride FileInfo Options is set in Apache’s config file for your domain.

Is there a possibility that code is incorrect?

It’s always possible, but if it works on 99% of the sites out there…. 😉

More likely is what Tim is referring to. Mod_rewrite can be enabled on the server but disabled on a particular web account or even a folder under that web account.

I have a problem adding sites to my blog. The Dashboard shows “My Sites” but when I click on it It does not give the option to add a site. How can I add new sites?
Another problem is I cannot add wildcard Sub domains I have to add them individually. How can I get around this?
