Hi there.
I can see how we might add this as an option but if the page is not published and publicly available it should not really feature in your sitemap as typically search engines would get an error page e.g. 404 not found.
If the post is publicly available but just not in the main navigation this would work but I’m not sure how useful this would be as it could look like an orphaned page. That said it might take google a while to work that out.
As we haven’t heard back from you I’m going to close this. Please respond to this thread or email us if you want to discuss this feature idea in more detail. Thanks
Hi there, sorry I’ve only just seen this reply.
The plugin that I am using is Sportspress, I understand exactly what your saying, though sportspress and the way it’s built queues games via the scheduled post feature and publishes them once the match has begun.
Scheduled posts via Sportspress are made (by default) publicly available and on the face of it have the same functions and features of a regular published post.
I haven’t resolved this issue and is something that I still wish to pursue.
Thanks for getting back to me.
Hi there, I got exactly the same problem. Also by using Sportspress.
Did anyone find af workaround of this issue?
Sportspress isn’t something that has been explicitly tested so I would need to look in to this.
So what I think you are saying is that scheduled posts in sportspress are actually public it just changes how they are displayed based on whether they are scheduled or not.
The simplest option might be to enable you to select if you want to include scheduled posts for each post type as this would be generic feature.
Would that work?
If you wanted a quick workaround you could hack the PHP code to make it include scheduled posts for Sportspress posts.
You are spot on π
Sportspress uses the Schedule-date as event-date. The page is visible both before and after the schedule-date.
If I can select to include scheduled post for the post type “Events” it would be perfect.
Unfortunately I’m not experienced enough to hack the PHP code π
Hello.
I’ve been looking at this and I’m seeing a slight quirk.
Do your scheduled posts have permalinks?
/someurl
or the ugly ID :
/?p=1153
