Hello I started to use this plug in for the first time today, and tested with 1 line from CSV file.

The test user was registered correctly but somehow I find unknown error under the user name and,, The role becomes blank as a result. Please kindly find 2 pics.

    Screenshot2
    Screenshot3

I dont understand what [Invalid role (array)] message is, and the reason why this is shown under the Username, as a result, the roles cannot be registered…

I am really in trouble.. I am really hoping to get kind help!
    Best regards
    Fuji

    Hello,
I also realized the authorization [array] was given to this test account, this is not my intention..
    Screenshot4

I have to import 300 new users at once in one day.
In order to get rid of [array] , I simply have to open each account and un-tick [array] one by one..?
I hope there is better way to solve this..
Looking forward to hear your kind help..
    Many thanks

    @drt2de,

Good morning, how are you including roles in the CSV?

    Javier!
Good morning, I tried like this
    Screenshot5

On the 1st line, I added “Role”
and name of the role include chinese charactor.
    No tick on [Default roles]

    The result is
    Screenshot6
    Screenshot7
    Screenshot8

If possible, I would like to give them as [Default role]..

I am using Ultimatemember plug in, could this be a problem..?

    Many thanks!

This is not correct, you have to use the “Role slug” and no the “Role name” as you are using (this is explained in the documentation tab).

Find you role slug and use it to avoid this problem.

    Thank you Javier,
but is there anyway to use [Default role] instead of Role slug in the spread sheet?
    Screenshot9

I need to give Default role,,
Also, I want to delete [Array] authorization somehow. (as Screenshot4 in previous message)..

Anyway, I will try to find Role slug to try.

    Many thanks

Use this plugin to get the role slug you need: User Role Editor https://es.wordpress.org/plugins/user-role-editor/

    Dear Javier,
Thank you very much! It worked like a magigc!

Now I need to import new users with multiple roles.
    According to the documentation tab,
I found the instruction like this,
[Multiple roles can be imported creating a list of roles using commas to separate values.]

    Current CSV (single Role)
    Screenshot17
This works for a single role,

In order to give multiple roles, should I change the CSV like this?
    New CVS(Multiple Roles)

    Fuji,

This is explained in documentation: use commas to set different roles.

Please read documentation before asking, we have much work and this is free for us, so we cannot use so much time as we would like to be able to continue with our jobs.

    Dear Javier,
Yes, I read the documentation already, then asked you in my previous question, because I was not so clear about it.
Also as you could seee in screenshot18, I separated with comma(,) in the spreadsheet.
The thing I could not understand is, the Line 1 should be [roles] or [a list of roles] or somethingelse.

    Best regards

    Dear Javier,

I tried with [roles] on the first line, and 2 different roles comma(,) between,
    like, [um_custom_role_3,um_custom_role_6].
    Screenshot19
    Screenshot20
    The result was NONE
    Screenshot21

Then changed colum from [role] to [a list of roles], then tried to import again.
    Screenshot21
    Screenshot22
    The result was NONE
    Screenshot23

On the documentation, it is written [Multiple roles can be imported creating a list of roles using commas to separate values.] and I could not find any other instruction.

I opened csv file with memopad,
    Username,Email,first_name,last_name,nickname,a list of roles,Password
    TestUser999,the.world.zimon@gmail.com,Import,Test,Nicktest,”um_custom_role_3,um_custom_role_6″,12345

Can you please let me know how I did wrongly?
    Best regards

Please do not create CSV files manually. Use a program to do it, we always recommend Libre Office.

Also, why are you using “a list of roles” like column header. In the documentation it is said it has to be “role”.

Respect to cell values you have to use a list of role slugs separated by commas.

    Thread Starter drt2de

    (@drt2de)

    Dear Javier,

I did not create csv file manually, I created csv file by google spread sheet and Libreoffice, and just opened it with memopad only to take a pic to show you here.
I changed the column to a list of roles, because ‘role’ did not work..
Anyway, I changed it back to ‘role and tried same thing again.

    This is from Googlespreadsheet,
    Screenshot24
and it somehow worked after keep trying several times.

    Many thanks
