# Adding Recent Comments and Posts to sidebar

 * Hi, I have looked around the forum and documentation and been unable to find 
   out how to recent comments and posts on my sidebar. I know it can be done by 
   using Sidebar widgets however I have had problems with that and wanted to try
   just putting the code into the sidebar.php file.
 * If anyone has any information on this or can direct me to a suitable and relevant
   post on this forum it would be much appreciated.

 * I am now very interested in this. Built in widgets include recent comments and
   recent posts. But where are the widgets to be found? And the function info in
   the codex is a bit sparse. My question basically is how do you call recent posts/
   comments outside of the widget sidebar? TY.
