• I love the format you have for how posts show up on the front page when the front page is set to show recent blog posts. However, I need to have a separate blog page that shows posts as well.

    How can I change the front page code to still show recent post excertps on the front page, , even though I am setting the posts to show on the blog page?

    I’m hoping it’s something simple and clever like tweaking this line:
    if ( 'page' ) != get_option( 'show_on_front' ) && 2 . $paged ) {

    Any ideas?

  • I’m working on making that post block a page template for the next release. That way you can have a default flow of posts on the home page, like most other themes, or a post block by setting a static front page that uses the template.

    thanks @c.bavota.

    That would be awesome. Any way I can add it to my own page template in the meantime?

    I know just enough php to mess most things up 😉

    Hi, I’m also having a similar issue with my site. Basically, I’d like to limit blogging on the homepage to 1-2 comments from a single category (Testimonials) with a separate page ‘Blogs’ for traditional blog content. I’ve tried using various category excluder plugins, but these only allow me to turn all blogs on/off. Ideally, this functionality should be controlled through the front page/post page setting, but Arcade Basic doesn’t have a ‘home page’ to choose.

    Are there any workarounds before the update?

    I’m with you Brandmelder. I’m trying to figure out how to have the blog feature as a separate page.

    Anyone else out there know?
