Adding Post excerpts to sidebar overwrites home page

    I have a custom template I am creating which is not on the web as yet. For some reason when I put the php coding in the sidebar.php file to incorporate post excerpts it overwrites the home page content and throws my layout off. Please help.

    if the sidebar is called before the main content, try to add a wp_reset_query(); at hte end of the sidebar;

    layout issues can best/only be checked with a link to the live site;

    you could try to use the http://validator.w3.org/ to see if the output gives you some hints what might be wrong.
