adding photographs

  • The new system of adding photographs no longer allows the options of Thumbnail, medium, large and actual size. It also doesn’t enable correct positioning of photos within text.

This makes creating a post laborious in the extreme. It also means that we have to resize normal photographs in our files, taking up unnecessary disk space.

Please can we have our old system back: it worked beautifully.

  • If you scroll to the bottom of the Insert Media window, you’ll see that in the right pane, there’s a Size option which will allow you to select the aforementioned sizes.

Thank you very much. I tried it and it works! Why doesn’t WP explain clearly when they make changes?

But a WP blogger gave me the best advice, which opens up whole new worlds of blogability: download Windows Live Writer. Everything is so much more user-friendly than WP (sorry, WP)

You’re welcome. Sometimes it takes a while to find where the “old” features are in any app.

As for Live Writer, I believe it’s a good alternative for writing but without going into great detail, overall I personally like using the WP interface since I have much more control over the entire site, not just the blogging aspect.
