Support » Plugins and Hacks » adding non-pages to pages-menu

  • i would like to add links to the pages menu (which is shown as the main horizontal navigation in the header in a lot of themes) that are actually links to two or three of my main categories (and not pages). this way i would have ‘about’, ‘contact’, ‘personal’ and ‘professional’ as my main navigation, with the two last ones linking to a list of posts in those categories.

i guess i could just hardcode these links in the template, but thought there might be a better solution (with a plugin)?

    any ideas?

    thanks!

  • There is no plugin. Hardcode them 🙂

As helpful as THAT is, does anybody else have any ideas? It would be really nice to have the three states (normal, hover, selected) on those links.

Is there any way to do that?

there isnt a plugin for that. if you want to have extra links in that area then you hardcode them into your theme file.

Thats done with CSS, and hardcoding them or not doesnt affect that.

    Hi,

I’ve just created a plugin to accomplish this. It’s a little kludgy, since I made it for internal use, but it should do what you’re looking for.
