Support » Fixing WordPress » Adding name / first name of the recipient on wordpress mail subject

  • Hi,

I am using wordpress eMail User 2 plugin ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/emu2-email-users-2/ ) to send an email to my wordpress user.

I want to personalize my mail so the recipients will receive my mail with his / her name at the subject.

The default subject of my mass email looks like: [%BLOG_NAME%] A post of interest: “%POST_TITLE%”

I want to personalize it into: “Hi, [name]! [%BLOG_NAME%] A post of interest: “%POST_TITLE%”

    example:
Hi, John! [My Blog] A post of interest: “My newest post!”
Hi, Andy! [My Blog] A post of interest: “My newest post!”

What shortcode or tag I must write for the variable name?

    Thank you 🙂

  • Hi NatzNash,

Just from browsing through the templating options that come with this plugin, I’m not seeing support for the feature you’re looking for.

You might be better off asking the plugin developer(s) directly. Their support sub-forum can be found here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/emu2-email-users-2/

On a side note, I should mention you might just be better off finding a different plugin. I got _tons_ of errors following activation of this plugin. I don’t think it’s been actively supported past WP version 3.2.1. I know there are several other similar plugins available in the plugin repository that might serve you better.
