    Hello,

I was trying to solve the API rate limit error by following your instructions in this thread (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-occured-while-retrieving-the-facebook-feed-18/) and using my own access token.

I was able to create an access token, but could you explain just a little more how to “use that access token in the access token field of the shortcode”? I’ve looked at all the shortcode examples on the General setup tab and none seem show how to assign an access token, just the app id (fb_appid=), which didn’t work for me when I entered my app id.

    Thank you!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @pessimisticoptimist,

Hope you are doing good today 🙂

Your access token should be AppID|AppSecret and put that in the appid shortcode field.

Let me know if It works for you.

    Hi there,

    Same issue here! (likebox feature)

To the author, at first … why not using the right terms and why not showing an example of the shortcode?

    2. In facebookdev tools, the terms are “app ID” and “app Secret”
    1. Which url to use for “Valid OAuth Redirect URI’s

Would it take so much time to make your own detailed instructions?

Creating an “App ID” and make the right settings. Would solve a lot I think.

I hope to get a reply with detailed instructions soon. 🙂

    Kind regards,

    Webagent05

    Hi guys,

I am glad to inform you all that we have fixed the API rate limit issue by verifying our business on Facebook and creating multiple applications to balance the API calls.

To fix this issue, here are the steps.

Update the plugin to latest version 4.4.0
Go to EFBL -> Settings -> Authentication, click on Get My Access Token button to get your very own access token and follow the on-screen instructions.
    Save Changes!
Go to EFBL -> Settings -> Clear Cache, Delete the cached pages.
    Done!

No need to change any shortcode or widgets. It will keep working as it is, fancy, right?

In case you still want to use the old API then you can keep using the current version of the plugin. If you have updated already, then you can download this version from here: https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/easy-facebook-likebox.4.3.9.zip

Trust me, it was a long and complex process (yes, we kept working behind the scenes tirelessly days and nights when we first get this report) but we did it all as we have had the spirit and support from all of you lovely users of the plugin.

Thank you so much for your patience and support 🙂

    Best Regards,
    Danish Ali Malik
