  • newbie here- noone has answered me- other questions posted after me are being answered:

    so I AM GOING TO RE-PHRASE THIS>>>>>”To add meta tags to your site, simply add them to the header.php template file in your WordPress Theme, specifically in the head section near the link for the style sheet.”

    I dont know how or where to do this. please someone HELP. exactly what steps do I take to find this place. thank you very much

  • log in to dashboard
    go to
    Appearance – Editor
    next page in right sidebar, click on header.php

    look for this code or similar
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_url'); ?>" type="text/css" media="screen" />
    add your code right after this
    save page

    I am having the same problem. I tried adding the code for Google webmaster site verification as specified above, and it didn’t work.

    Any more suggestions?
