Adding media (e.g. a pdf) to an event

When I add events via the Dashboard I have access to all the typical WP editing tools. I’d like to use this to add a .pdf document with more info about a particular event. However, when I try to add an event via the front end forms I don’t see the option to add media to my submission. Is there a way around that?
