I am using wordpress for my blog (child theme of 2012). I purchased Headway last year and could never figure it out since I am pretty much a newbie.

I want to make my main website using WordPress also ( I currently use homestead which is easy to use but not very well coded I understand). Would I be able to easily create pages such as this using Make?

I would want the maps and photos all inserted into the text rather than using blocks like homestead does (hope that makes sense…Homestead just has you put text blocks, html blocks, etc in the page. My understanding is that kills the SEO among other bad things.

Here is a sample of what I am talking about.

  • Hi there!

WordPress supports embedding images and maps directly into the content, and Make certainly gives you a lot of good options for arranging the layout of that content. You can check out the Make documentation for more information.

Thanks, Corey. I think I will try to change my theme on WordPress from the 2013 child theme that I am using now to Make. One question…other than how is the weather in Alaska….whenever I try to edit a new theme I have the option to save and activate. But I don’t see where I can just save and preview. Perhaps that is more of a WordPress issue.

The weather where I am in Alaska is gorgeous … today at least 😉

I’m not sure if we’re thinking of the same thing, but from the Themes screen, you can click “Live Preview” on any theme you have installed, which brings up a preview of the theme that you can customize along with your content. This shows you what the website will look like with the theme without actually changing what your visitors see. Clicking “Save and Activate” will make those changes live on your website, so your visitors will see them too.

This is definitely more of a WordPress issue, so you may be able to get more info on the How-To and Troubleshooting forum.
