# Adding &layout=gallery issue (free version)

 * I just downloaded this plugin and it looks quite nice, but I’m having an issue.
 * Everything works great until I add the “&layout=gallery” parameter to the shortcode
   in my post – at that point, the plugin gets a 400:Bad Request response. Turning
   on debugging in the options page, it looks like adding the layout parameter replaces
   my valid API key in the request URL with the value ‘PRIVATE’. If I copy and paste
   the request URI into a new browser tab and replace ‘PRIVATE’ with my actual API
   code, the results are returned as expected.
 * It’s the only plugin I have active, and I’ve switched back to the 2015 theme 
   for testing. Any ideas?

 * Hi embedplus. The shortcode used is:
    `[embedyt] http://www.youtube.com/embed?
   listType=playlist&list=UUK7IIV6Q2junGSdYK3BmZMg&layout=gallery[/embedyt]`
 * Again, without the ‘&layout=gallery’, the video appears as expected. Also, this
   happens with any channel.
 * Unfortunately, the page is currently in development for a client and behind a
   password-protected gateway. It’d break contract to give out credentials.

   We tested it on multiple themes – new lotus, twenty fifteen, …
 * Since we can’t see your site, your best bet is to:
    1) make sure you’ve created
   your required YouTube API key and saved it within the plugin’s settings page (
   note that this is different from the PRO key): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vmBACVETf4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vmBACVETf4)
 * 2) Check if you have any console errors by using the the inspect element feature
   on a browser like Chrome.
 * 3) Try another theme to make sure it’s not your current theme that’s causing 
   the problem.

 * I’ve tried the twenty fifteen, twenty fourteen, twenty thirteen, and my own custom
   theme. As I said, I’ve deactivated all plugins except this one.
 * The API key has been created and saved in the plugin’s settings page in the ‘
   Gallery Settings and Direction’ section, and when I manually replace the ‘PRIVATE’
   value in the key parameter of the request URI with the saved API key, it works.
 * The only output I get to console on page load is the following:
 * YT API ready
    Setting up YT API events: _ytid_24945
 * I’ll try refreshing my API key and uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, 
   all that normal stuff – if it works I’ll let you know.

 * Why don’t you take it off debug mode while you’re doing this. It’s something 
   you turn on if we explicitly ask you to do.

 * I can’t seem to get the thumbnails to work at all, I deleted the api re authed
   the api and the line I put in my blog is this:
