adding jquery tabs to sidebar

    I have been searching but cannot find a decent tutorial on setting up tabs in my WordPress site’s sidebar. It’s a child theme of twenty eleven. I can create the tabs but I need to show recent posts from two different categories (one in each tab) with a thumbnail image. I have a link to a site that shows what I’m trying to achieve. If you scroll half way down you’ll see the tabs (popular, latest, comments, tags) I only need to show two categories (NEWS/ EVENTS) I’d prefer to create my own but if there’s a widget that will allow me to do this that will work too. Thanks for any help

    It’s not too hard to do this yourself, but it’s probably beyond the scope of this forum. But there are plenty of plugins that will pull recent posts from a certain category. You can view some of those here, and hopefully find one that does what you need.

    Thanks dkotter – I will check these out. Do you know where I could find a decent tutorial that would lead me in the right direction even if it’s not exactly what I’m trying to do?
