[Resolved] Adding in Menu Bar Below Header

  • I am new to htlm (have used mainly Dreamweaver WYSIWYG to design sites before this). I was able to figure out how to add in my customized header and menu bar (see http://www.myfinancialawareness.com/blog. Yet, when I initially did this, there was a gap (blank space) between the header and menu bar that I tried to minimize by changing the header height pixel in

    #header { margin: 0 !important; margin: 0 0 0 1px; padding: 1px; height: 140px; width: 758px; }

    – in order to reduce the header space size, to bring up the menu bar

    This appeared to work in Mozilla Firefox but not Microsoft Explorer.

    Was there a better way of changing the spacing of my items so it would work in all internet applications?

    Thanks
    Pete

  • I get a 404 for your site. You might try:

    #header {
    padding: 1;
    margin: 0;
    position: relative;
    height: 140px;
    width: 758px;
    }

    Thanks for your help … the issue was actually in the next line (headerimg size). Yet, your idea showed me that the header was too big and the image was the last thing to change.

    Also the 404 was caused by a . at the end of com. It should have been http://www.myfinancialawareness.com/blog

    If someone gets an error in loading this site, please let me know so i know that it is still an issue.
