After you insert the image as a featured image, do you see a thumbnail of the slide image like this screenshot?

It is possible there is a plugin conflict, you can deactivate your other plugins and test the slide editor to see.

    Hi Josh,
Thanks for your response. I see the thumbnail OK but no sign of adding additional images. other plugin slides i.e. Soliloquy Lite and nextgen might interfere. I will do as you suggest, deactivate and try again.

Each slide image is added separately as a new slide post, check out the documentation on using Meteor Slides to make sure that’s how you have it setup.

All done OK, I was expecting to see thumbnails.thanks
I always reduce images to less than 100kb would you recommend that I should continue doing this?

Yes, compressing the image files as much as you can is a good idea. How much you can do this depends on the image content and dimensions. You might get them down to a 100KB if they are 900×200, but could get them down to 25k if they are 300×100. I use Photoshop’s Save for Web function and save as 50% quality JPGs.
