Adding image pushes my content down the page (9 posts)

I've just integrated a wordpress blog into my existing website. Everything looks ok until I try and insert an image at the top of my post, when I preview it on my page in Safari or Firefox the image has pushed all the content below it half-way down the page. If I place it at the bottom there is a big gap between the end of the post and the image.
Also when I view the page in IE7 the content is half-way down the page anyway, with or without the image!
I'm sure there will be some dodgy coding on there, as I converted the page to PHP from an HTML template in my site - but I just need someone to help me find the bad bit!!
Here's a link to the page, if someone could solve both these problems I'd be very grateful

    Thanks in advance

It'd be good to fix this http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mrballad.com%2Fblog%2F&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0 (Copy and paste that link)

There is a broken head tag on line 1 for starters and I can't see a open html tag.

You have div's called meta and a class attached to that image but they don't seem to be referenced in any stylesheet or your embedded stylesheet.

Thanks I'm going to take a look at those errors first, hope fully I won't need to come back to you!

I've made some changes to the code and it's now working properly in IE7 but not in Safari or Firefox.
Are there any known issues or can anyone see anything specific in my code that could be causing this?

    Thanks in advance

You still have errors. Check the validation link from thelastknight and fix your errors.

    Hi thelastknight,

Other pages on my site have similar errors but they are all fine in all browsers, so I don't think this is the issue.

Can anyone help or suggest where I can go ?

    Thanks

You have additional errors that did not show on the first validation link. http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mrballad.com%2Fblog%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.654

Errors are always the issue. You can try to ignore them based on the faulty logic from above but they will come back to bite you.

Ok so I've fixed all the errors on the page and my document has passed...but I'm still getting the same problem. No change.

Looks fine in IE7 and Opera but content being pushed down the page by the image in Firefox, Safari and Flock

Can anyone help me as this obviously wasn't an errors issue...

Don't worry I hand coded inserting the image and hosted it away from WordPress and it works. Must be a problem with inserting images in WordPress.
