# adding html/css/js to WP

 * I see some cool things, like [https://codepen.io/colinhorn/pen/dRBvLq](https://codepen.io/colinhorn/pen/dRBvLq),
   and I’ve tried adding them to WP.
 * I:
    1. add the html to the page 2. the CSS to a CSS editor plugins (granted this
   one is SCSS) 3. add js to a js plugins
 * They never seem to work.
 * Is there a general how-to to add code with html/css/js?

 * what theme are you using? how about child theme? did you try to put code in separate
   files? more details please.

 * That specific example has external dependencies. If you click the Gear next to
   JS you’ll see that the Pen is loading “[https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/particles.js/2.0.0/particles.min.js&#8221](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/particles.js/2.0.0/particles.min.js&#8221);.
   So you’ll also need to load that file for your JS to work. This article shows
