Adding 'Guest' as your post author

  • On my site there are three regular authors, myself included. However, I would like for one single post to be authored by someone else, i.e. that the post author is shown as “Guest” so that it says:

“Posted by GUEST on January 13th, 2012” instead of “Posted by MY USERNAME on January 12th, 2012”. The post in question will be posted by me, but is written by an author that will be a single time contributor. What I want is only to have the post author’s name changed from MY USERNAME to GUEST? Is that possible, by a plugin or something?

    Thank you for the reply.

  • Create a new user named “Guest”, then just change the author when writing the post. If you don’t see a drop down for author selection, check your screen options in the top right corner.
