I’m trying to adding the following Google Analytics Event Tracking code to the Popular Posts widget so I can get a sense how much it’s being used.

    Here’s the snippet placed inside the Post HTML Markup section: <li onClick="_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'Test1', 'Click']);">{thumb} {title} {stats}</li>

Using element inspector on the site I can see the event tracking code there (http://www.jeffsteinke.com/), but the event isn’t going through. Similarly I also tested this same event tracking code outside of the Popular Posts widget and the event tracking worked fine.

    Thoughts?

    Hi jsteinke17,

This is an interesting idea, actually. I have never tested this before, I’ll give it a go and post back in a couple of days.
