  • Is it better to add Google Analytics code to the header.php or to the footer.php? I have it at the footer.php and according to my google analytics account, google does not see it.

    Thank you.

  • Add it to your footer just before the closing </body> tag is the best place for it. If after you do that and go into Analytics and it doesn’t detect it right away don’t worry give it time.

Most of the time when I put the code in and try to verify right away it fails, and I do nothing and check back in an hour or two and magically it’s been detected.

I wouldn’t panic if it doesn’t verify right away if the code is copied and pasted correctly it might take a few for them to verify it.

Thank you so much. You were right. It took a while, but now the thing says. “Receiving data.”

Yeah everything sounds like it’s installed correctly give it a couple days to retrieve the data and be fully operational.
