Adding featued images to older themes.

  • Hello,

    I’m using the tanzaku over at a site I’d like to set up for personal work.
    http://www.henrymckenzie.com

    I would like to have featured images rater than content display on the home page but I dont believe the theme i’m using supports it.

    With my limited knowledge I believe I have added the:

    add_theme_support('post-thumbnails');

    to the functions.php where it should be but i’m having trouble finding where I need to insert the:

    if (has_post_thumbnail()) {
    	the_post_thumbnail();
    }

    which I assume needs to go somewhere in my index.php

    any help would be much appreciated.

    You would need to add this line inside thee Loop within your template file,

    Incidentally, that’s a pretty old theme. I don’t think its developer supports it any longer. Have you considered switching to a more recent – and still supported – theme?

    It is a pretty old theme, do you have suggestions as to what may be similar.

    Otherwise, where exactly in the loop do I add the line?

    Thanks for your suggestions.
