Support » Plugins » adding Dynamic Widgets plugin to Shell Lite child theme

  • Hi,
I’ve installed the Dynamic Widgets plugin so that I can use different sidebar widgets on different pages. Shell Lite is widgetized but they are all static. I haven’t been able to find a way to add new dynamic widgets. One problem I have been running into is that the plugin seems to reference categories as a means of identifying the widgets. Since I will need to reference pages without categories this represents an added complication.

I am good with CSS but still not totally there with PHP. The theme administrator suggested the plugin but isn’t familiar with it’s capabilities and requirements.

Can anyone help get me rolling with this?

    Thank you!

Widgets are identified by its unique ID. Depending on the conditional rules you have set, DW decides to show or hide a widget. So, when you select certain conditional rules for Static pages, DW does leave Categories as is.

Sometimes however a theme confuses DW. A solution for that is to DW into using the ‘OLD’ method. You can do this by clicking on ‘Advanced’ at the bottom of the DW overview page and then ticking the ‘Use OLD method’ checkbox.
