Support » Fixing WordPress » Adding different image below header on each page – using Ultra by wpexplorer.com

  • I am close to insanity with this site. I am shifting an old website to a WordPress theme. The client wants the new site to look “just like the old one”. Ugg! Here is the old site: http://www.af-eng.com By using the Ultra Theme, I have the home page rolling. However, when I get to the pages, I need a way to add an “additional header image” below the standard header. The add on image has to be different on each page. My pages’left side bar and content are fine. (Original header, footer, etc…all fine on the new website theme). It’s just that darn changing “extra header” image. Please please please help! Code or a better theme suggestion to accomplish a switch over of the old site to WordPress. Thank you!

    look into using the ‘featured image’ or customfields for those images;

    Thank you for responding! My biggest issue is that the image needs to be below the header and about the content (and sidebar) container. I found this idea on a forum but just can’t seem to get the photo to load:

    `<?php $page_id=get_the_ID();
    if(is_page()) { $image=’head-image-‘.$page_id.’.jpg’; };
    if(!file_exists(TEMPLATEPATH.’/images/’.$image)) { $image=’head-image.jpg’; }
    echo ‘<img src=”‘.get_bloginfo(‘template_url’).’/images/’.$image.'” alt=”” />’; ?>

    Maybe I have looked at it for so long that I’m not reading it correctly. Suggestions?

    Thank you again for your help!
