[Resolved] Adding day of the week in Template Shortcode

  • I’m looking for the option to display the day of the week like “Wednesday” or “Saturday” using the template tag shortcodes. My current short code is

    [my_calendar_upcoming category="5" template="<strong>{link_title} - <em>{date}</em></strong> {time} - {endtime}<em>{description}</em>" type="events" order="asc"]

    I’m also looking for a way to get the information to be a bit more interactive and visually appealing and I’m a bit overwhelmed with all of the options I have.

    Are you looking for today’s date (e.g. the current day of the week), or the day of the event?

    There are a couple ways to do that, but the easiest is probably to use the format attribute with the dtstart template tag:

    {dtstart format="l"}

    (That’s a lowercase L)

    I’m looking for the day of the event. Where would I put that in my shortcode? I tried to throw it in the existing one and changed some format but did not add the day of the week.

    You’d put it in your template attribute.
