Adding custom icons to quadmenu

With the Quadmenu, I was hoping to find a way to add in custom icons, and the best way I could find is using backend hooks, and changing the LESS files in the compiler.

My question is, where in the compiler and in the quadmenu files will I be able to access the right files in which I can change the LESS files and add my own custom icons?
