Support » Plugin: WooCommerce Cart Stock Reducer » Adding countdown and availability text to item list

    Hey,

I was wondering how I could go about adding the countdown and availability text to my main store page items, so that visiting customers know that an item is in someone elses cart without needing to go to the product page to find out. I.e: I want this on items which are in someone else’s cart on the page which shows a list of all my products (sorry, my e-commerce terminology isn’t great).

I can usually figure out how to code up what I need in PHP, however, I haven’t done anything using WordPress or Woocommerce before so i’m a tad lost.

    Any help would be appreciated!

It’s not something that can happen easily yet. I had started working down that path to allow multiple countdown timers on a single page but it hasn’t been fully completed yet.

I created a github issue for this, https://github.com/jamesgol/woocommerce-cart-stock-reducer/issues/69

    Hey,

Sorry for my slow reply, I didn’t get a notification that you’d responded.

Thanks for that James! I’ll make sure to keep an eye on the GitHub issue for future updates.

Would it alternatively be possible to have a simple message printed on, say, featured products on the homepage, based on the virtual stock level, to inform users that the item is on hold? This would mean that users don’t need to navigate to the product page to know that it’s on hold.

    Thanks again for your help.

That one is easy to do, here’s a quick way to do it

You could easily have it only show if the quantity is at a certain threshold.

    Hey James,

Thank you very much for your help! For a free plugin, you seem to go above and beyond and i’m sure a lot of people appreciate that.
