Adding Comment Leads to WP 404

  • I recently upgraded to 2.2.2 and am having a problem where whenever anyone hits “Add Comment” (using Brian’s Threaded Comments) they get a WP 404 page (Not Found). I’ve reviewed all of the solutions I could find on the site but none seem to be the fix.

    Here’s the page if someone has time to lend a hand.
    Thanks for any help!

    Your comments form post address looks wrong. Yours is

    <form action=”http://www.unicornmuseum.org/wp/” method=”post” id=”commentform”>

    Mine (which works) is

    <form action=”http://www.mydomain.org/blog/wp-comments-post.php” method=”post” id=”commentform”>

    Not sure why an upgrade would have broken it, though.

    any idea where I can find and fix the reference?

    It’d be in the template (presentation – theme editor) probably comments.php my line is just over half-way down the page

    <form action=”<?php echo get_option(‘siteurl’); ?>/wp-comments-post.php” method=”post” id=”commentform”>

    Just ran into the same problem, mrmist is right, it should be wp-comments-post.php

    You probably did the same thing as me and changed the “Custom Comments Target” option to something other than wp-comments-post.php
