Do you mean other than creating new categories from your admin panel when you login to your site?

The official way to create categories is through Categories/Add Category in your admin interface. These categories won’t appear in the side menu until you post something in them.
Well….heres my idea. I wanted to add a category called “contributors” to my site http://www.completelunacy.com There in the contributors section i would list the people who make contributions to my site. How would you go about that?
1. Use the Link Manager, create that category and add people using that.
or
2. Write the info straight into index, and manually add info:
<li>Contributors
<ul>
<li><a href="http://www.ben.com">Ben</a></li>
<li>and another link</li>
</ul>
</li>
3. Use the tag that wp has for listing authors.
Each of the above are good.
