Adding background images to Page links in sidebar

Hello all

I’m in the process of writing myself a photo gallery theme for wordpress.

In my sidebar I have a list of my pages these are styled to look like buttons.

I would like to be able to add a different background image to each page list item.

I could do this by editing the page specific CSS every time add a page which while doable is not particularly elegant.

Is there anyway to upload a “title” image whilst writing the page maybe using the custom field or something so I don’t actually have to edit the css each time a page is added.
