Support » Plugin: Ad Inserter - Ad Manager & AdSense Ads » Adding an extra section block to a theme for adplacement

  • Resolved gsh1923

    Hi there.

I have been using this fabulous plugin for a while.

Within the plugin there are drop-down boxes alongside “Automatic Display” that reference page areas. This is very helpful for doing generic advertising insertions.

What I wanted to know is if there was a way to add values to the Automatic Display that could then be used with all the other settings options.

For example, I have a wordpress theme into which I would like to add a banner at the very top of the website. However, I am not sure

    a) the code that I would need to create to insert this container into the theme.
    b) how I could name the piece of code so that in “Automatic Display” the named variable would say “Top of website).

While I can do a bit of developing perhaps you can point steer me in the right direction as I don’t really want to start making template changes in case the theme updates.

    Thank you

You can not change automatic display options. Ad Inserter already supports all positions supported by WP hooks. However, you can implement custom poditions by adding adinserter PHP fubction calls to your theme.
